Ultrasonic C-Scan Systems

The following are the current generation of AMDATA IntraSpect C-Scan Products: Mercury, Paragon 2, and Athena. All of these products have been designed in, and are manufactured in the USA.

Conventional Ultrasonic Systems

The Mercury is a high performance compact UT system available in configurations of 1 to 6 channels. It is the culmination of processing speed and precise performance to truly be state of the art 2017 and beyond. Like any current product, you have many choices for what your system will be:

Host Computer: Desktop, Laptop, or Tablet

UT Channels: 1 to 6 as mentioned above

Motion Controller: Standalone enclosure, rack-mount, or on-scanner (see below)

Scanner Cabling: 6 to 150 feet long (~3 to 50 meters)

Scanner: A wide range of automated scanner models from 2-axis portable scanners to 9 axis immersion tanks. See our Scanner page for additional details.

Note: This only covers “standard products”. If you need something different, “custom systems” is our manufacturer’s middle name. Remember that all standard products once evolved from a custom system project. Our standard products essentially grew from customer demands. In short, tell us what you need, and the effort to do so will be defined.

The Paragon 2 is in a different league. It is the state of the art in nuclear power reactor vessel inspections. It has incredible performance as you would expect of such a critical application. Its basic configuration is a 16 channel system. It is typically packaged in rugged shipping containers to travel to customer plants around the world. The same choices as for the Mercury are also available for the Paragon 2, but customers typically elect to acquire the basic Vessel Inspection configuration as follows:

Host Computer: Desktop or Laptop

UT Channels: 16 as mentioned above

Motion Controller: Standalone enclosure or rack-mount

Scanner Cabling: 150 feet long (~ 50 meters)

Scanner: Reactor Vessel Head Scanner. See our Scanner page for additional details.

Note: This only covers the “standard products”. The same custom systems note as for the Mercury product also applies here.

Phased Array Systems

The Athena is our manufacturer’s product line for phased array ultrasonic systems. It currently comes in 2 configurations: 32-32 and 64-64. It can also perform conventional UT when equipped with the appropriate cable adapter. System configuration choices for phased array systems are as follows:

Host Computer: Desktop, Laptop, or Tablet

UT Elements (Channels): 32 or 64

Maximum Group Firing: 32 or 64, respectively

Motion Controller: Standalone enclosure, rack-mount, or on-scanner (see below)

Scanner Cabling: 6 to 150 feet long (~3 to 50 meters)

Scanner: A wide range of automated scanner models from 2-axis portable scanners to 10 axis immersion tanks. See our Scanner page for additional details.

Note: This only covers the “standard products”. The same custom systems note as for the Mercury product also applies here.
